Real Wedding | Olympic Rooftop Pavilion
Kara and Jordan celebrated their marriage at Hotel Ballard’s Olympic Rooftop Pavilion. Their design was minimal and monochromatic, light, and airy, with primary colors of white and cream, and accent colors of black, green, and brown from the venue space.
Using Robinson Creative House’s Manhattan design, K+J’s invitation suite was simple with a modern elegance. It had a neutral color palette, bold monogram, and a dash of script font (in Robinson Creative House’s words). K+J’s day-of stationery added a personalized touch to the decor, including cocktail napkins with an illustration of their beloved pup, Walter, drawn by Jordan’s sister.
The ceremony overlooked the water from the rooftop. The altar consisted of a black metal framed structure with dramatic asymmetrical floral arrangements. Ingrdients consisted of hydrangeas, gypsophila, lisianthus, and roses. On either side of the ceremony entrance, we placed a black frame pedestal with tall floral arrangement on top in a clear glass vase, complementing the altar. Several large gypsophila arrangements in varying sizes hung from the three beams in the ORP to add interest.
Guests were seated in clear Mirage chairs on either side of the aisle. These two columns of chairs were be arced towards K+J. One chair in the front row on the ends on each side of the aisle were decorated in florals to remember those unable to be attend.
As guests re-entered the space for dinner, a large escort card display held champagne glasses with the escort card attached to the rim, showing guests their table number. The top of the structure read, “Cheers,” in K+R’s font from their invitation suite, a nod to Jordan.
Banquet tables were dressed with white Panama table linens and white cheesecloth runners, adding texture and dimension. Each table had a paper table number card held in an acrylic place card holder, white taper candles in clear glass candlesticks with clear glass chimney’s, white votive candles in pleated clear glass holders, and bud vases with 1-3 stems of blooms or textured white/green foliage complementary to the hanging gypsophila. Dinner service was family style, so space was intentionall be left in front of each guest to make room for serving dishes.
Kara’s bouquet was a hand-tied garden style arrangement with varying textures and levels to create dimension. The ingredients included large, medium, and small white blooms, and a hint of clematis or snowberry foliage.
