Real Wedding | Dunn Gardens
Originally planted in 1915, Dunn Gardens is a privately owned estate nestled in the Broadview neighborhood of Seattle. This historic garden is known for it's naturalistic groupings of trees, broad lawns, woodland walks, and expansive view of Puget Sound. This was the perfect hideaway in the city for Jessica and Matthew's timeless wedding.
Jess and Matt wanted a simple and elegant wedding that was still fun and whimsical, true to who they are. Inspired by the secret garden, we imagined wild summer foliage, a white tent, farm tables, bright white garden roses, and crisp linens.
Each aspect of their event was held in a different location of the garden, allowing guests to enjoy the beauty of their natural surroundings. The ceremony took place on the former tennis lawn underneath 100 year old fir tress. We dressed the altar with wispy greenery and lined the back row of the vineyard chairs with wild, mixed foliage. Guests entered and exited the ceremony down woodland paths with white painted signs directing them.
The reception was held on the main lawn under a sailcloth tent, provided by Alexander Party Rentals. Farm tables were accented with dusty blue fabric runners from La Tavola, tall white pillar candles and wispy garlands. Charcoal striped napkins added a playful component to each place setting. Other favorite details include the minimalist paper goods and fabric banner designed by Libby Tipton, the stylish white bar from Happy Hour Bar Rentals, and mid-century lounge furniture from Yay! Parties & Co. with oversized balloons.
Jess' natural beauty was complemented by Yessie Libby's soft makeup artistry and an elegant Sarah Seven a-line gown from The Dress Theory.
